I’m a 68-year-old retired handyman who has spent a lifetime working with my hands and helping people maintain their homes. For over twenty years, homeowners, landlords, and small property owners counted on me for everything from drywall repairs and painting to full renovations and rehab projects. I built my life on hard work, reliability, and the pride of knowing I earned every dollar through honest effort.

This past year has brought challenges I never imagined. The home repair industry slowed down so sharply that the steady work I depended on simply disappeared. Calls stopped coming in, regular clients paused their projects, and new jobs became almost impossible to find. Practically overnight, my income dropped to a level I couldn’t sustain.

At my age, bouncing back from such a sudden loss is incredibly difficult.
