Lily made the US National Climbing Team and will participate in 3-4 World Cups representing the US this next year. Lily does not have an officially funded spot on the team so most, if not all, of the cost to go to international competitions is covered by her and her family. The money will be used to cover airfare, lodging and food. Lily has had to travel quite a bit just to train, as the local gym is not supportive of her dream. This has cut into time she is available to work to fund the cost of competing and in order to chase her Olympic dream she has to compete in the World Climbing series. Climbing is not a lucrative sport so USA Climbing is unable to fund all athletes on the national team. Any tiny bit helps and is greatly appreciated.
