Well, I guess I should start by saying this year didn't start out so well. In January I lost my job and was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer. My prognosis is 6 months without treatment and 12 months with treatment. I have applied for disability but they say it can take 6-9 months. I've also applied for unemployment benefits which were denied and I have filed an appeal. Unfortunately, even with the wonderful charity of OU Stephenson's Cancer Center I am still on the hook for 10% of bill and that's separate from all medications including chemo and immunotherapy. My husband, myself, and our son are just trying to keep our head above water financially. I'm about to be homeless and without transportation very soon. I understand that this is no one else's responsibility but it's, it's just I am at my most desperate right now. Please if you can help in anyway it would be a blessing.
