Love to the Niness Family
The Niness family is loved by so many people, because to know any one of them - Mark, Julie, Madison, Jackson, Kennedy - is to love them. On Sunday, January 30, the unimaginable happened when Mark Niness suddenly passed away, and the family so loved by so many found themselves without their anchor, their strength, their center, their husband and father.
Julie and Mark met while students at Susquehanna University, and have built a life and family near where they both grew up. They have kept strong friendships from their childhood and SU days, and cultivated many others along the way; if there was a way to be involved in their community, their children's school, sports, and activities, Julie and Mark were there. Through all of their own challenges they continued to be ever-present for others, never once turning outward to ask for help in return. Now is a time we can be present for them.
Madison is a recent graduate from Susquehanna University, Jackson is a senior at Gettysburg College, and Kennedy is a sophomore at University of Delaware. Julie is looking at a future where she is a single mom, managing this family, a house at the mercy of climate and PEMA, and all that comes with this new version of life. In the immediate days, funeral and memorial expenses will be significant. Moving forward, the impact of losing Mark's income will be felt deeply.
If you are able to make a donation in memory of Mark, to honor your relationship with Julie, Madison, Jackson, and Kennedy, or for any reason your heart is motivated to give, please consider making a gift to help them deal with today and provide a level of security for tomorrow.
