Lily is a sweet, wonderful boxer that belongs to my best friend, Connie Chavis.  Lily is in Urgent Need of medical care that Connie is unable to afford at this time due to her own medical condition.  Back in April, Lily stayed behind in SC with family while Connie came to NC to receive surgical care from a specialist at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.  Due to unexpected complications, Connie has spent four weeks in the hospital which included two re-admissions, ICU and renal failure.  This week she was finally feeling well enough to make the journey home for an overnight visit.   When we arrived we were shocked to discover that Lily has a huge tumor (seen near her foot in picture) on her hind leg.  There was a place there about the size of a quarter that was believed to be a fatty tumor when she left in April.  We brought Lily back to NC with us and took her to our vet in Greensboro, NC.  As expected the tumor needs to be removed and will be quite costly due to its size.  We will not know if it is benign until it is removed and pathology is completed, but her chest x-ray was clear which makes it hopeful.  I have also started a Tupperware Fundraiser which will return 40% of its sales for Lily's medical care.  Please email me at [email protected] if interested in helping that way and I will forward the catalog link.  This tumor is growing at a very fast rate and it is already hard for Lily to walk comfortably.  Your gifts of any amount would be greatly appreciated by myself, Connie and Lily!  Her desperate need can be verified by Sheets Pet Clinic in Greensboro.
