Affectionately known as "lieutenant Dan" - Dan and his family are in need of your support!

Not long ago Dan had a stroke that impacted the left side of his body. Because he is an amputee, he will need extra time to recover and extra therapy time. The stroke took out the side of his body that still had one of its legs.

Dan has been moved to a Rehab facility, but his insurance is only approving him 4 days at a time, and they will be capping the total number of days allowed at 20. Doctors think he will need more than several weeks to recover and regain his independence. The family is preparing to put out over $600 a day in fees to get him the care he needs. It amounts to nearly $20,000 a month!

Here's a little about the lieutenant:

He is a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. And, several in his family have had their own extreme medical difficulties over the last several years. The most recent, his grandson, has gone through multiple rounds of chemo at the Children's Hospital. Thankfully, with the support of Dan and the rest of the Wheeley family, he is now in remission.

However, he needs his grandpa! He has a zest for life and is always the funniest one in the room. He never asks for help, quietly suffers, and continues to support his amazing wife, in-laws, children, and grandchildren with a smile on his face! Even through his illness, he has continued to remain an emotional support system for everyone, despite him being the one that needs a little support.
