Lucy needs surgery!
Lucy is the sweetest dog, she has helped me through so many difficult times. She's 10.5 years old and has hip and spine arthritis but still loves to play!
In October she had a complete tear of her right ACL/CCL and was unable to put weight on that leg. She still wanted to run and play. Most vets quoted me $5,000 for surgery, but my vet recommended I travel 4 hours to surgeon that only charged $3,400. The surgery on Nov 27th was a success! Now over 2 months later Lucy has been going on 2-3 mile walks with me. Unfortunately she has now tore her LEFT ACL/CCL and needs surgery on that leg. It is scheduled for March 6, at Advanced Veterinary Care in Silver City NM.
I use a care credit for my expensive veterinary care. But unfortunately I already had a balance on it from other issues. As many of you know, Daisy (my other dog) has had several veterinary emergencies in the past year. I finally paid those off, and am just starting to try to put money towards Lucy's first surgery. Lucy takes pain meds that cost close to $80/month combined, and Daisy is on 3 anxiety medications that cost close to $50 combined, a month, plus Daisy is on a prescription diet that is $100 a month as she is allergic to most dog foods. Because of these recurring costs, my own chronic health issues and human healthcare costs, I'm having trouble paying for Lucy's two surgeries. I'm happy to provide the email confirmation from the surgeon as well as paperwork from her first surgery to prove this is legitimate.
Please help, even if you can only spare $5. I appreciate anything. My dogs (and cat) are my life and I'm determined to do everything I can to keep them healthy and with a good quality of life. Unfortunately things have been hard for me the past 2-3 years and I need help!
thank you from Sarah (me), Lucy, Daisy, and Sam.
