Luis & Mashama Torres are friends and family of ours that we love and want to support during this difficult time. Luis has been on a journey to get on the liver transplant list since Nov 2022. The very day he was approved to get placed on the liver transplant list was the very same day he had to be intubated and placed on a ventilator, due to a combination of extremely high ammonia levels in his body and phenomena. Luis has fought for his life and God has performed a miracle, and he is still with us today. He has a very long road to recovery as he must re-learn many things, including walking, talking, writing amongst other things. Many of us know Luis, or we may know his wife Mashama or their daughter Ahjaé. Whatever the connection is that you have with the Torres family, we want to stand with them during this very difficult time. Luis has a liver transplant journey that has taken a detour with him spending 20+ days in the hospital where he currently still is as of 4/21/2023. The next step for him will be several weeks spent at a rehabilitation center. Many friends and family of Luis and Mashama have asked what they can do to help.
