Luna's Zoomies Fund
tl;dr Luna needs surgery, and it’s expensive! [venmo @acebertin]
Welp, it brings me no joy (read: real heartache) to inform everyone that Luna was recently diagnosed with a torn cruciate ligament in both of her back knees, which require TPLO surgeries. She’s already been prescribed bedrest - which means the backyard bunnies are safe, and she makes for a great bicep curl as I carry her up the stairs every morning - and we have the first surgery scheduled for September 11. We want our little Banana back to her regularly scheduled hiking and paddling and zoomie-ing and garden-guarding as soon as possible (for her sake and ours), which should absolutely be possible with these surgeries.
The cost is around $5,000 per leg, so we're setting the goal at $10,000. If we manage to raise over that (which would be truly incredible), we’ll apply it to any additional medical expenses (xrays, meds, bloodwork, follow-up appointments, etc) then donate the remainder to an animal wellness cause (update to follow). We’re not really practiced in asking for this kind of help, but this is a big sum to land on our plates and any help we can get would mean so much to us, and to Lu.
