This year I am on Maryville High Schools homecoming court, running for homecoming queen. In order to run I am collecting donations for the Lupus Foundation of America. The Lupus Foundation is a non-profit organization that seeks to improve the quality of life for all those affected by lupus through programs of research, education, support, and advocacy. This organization is close to my heart as my mom is diagnosed with lupus erythematosus panniculitis one of the rarest forms of lupus so I have seen first-hand the effect that lupus can have on both those diagnosed and their families. Within the next two weeks my goal is to raise 3,000 dollars not only to be homecoming queen but also to an make an impact in the lives of the 1.5 million Americans who have this life altering disease.
