Hi, this is Lynn Prince.  Many of you already know me as a friend, or a relative.  For those folks about to be new friends, allow me to introduce myself.  I am a 61 year old disabled Veteran who, through various circumstances, find myself enduring vastly reduced financial means.  One of the reasons for my reduced circumstances is that I am no longer able to work because of my health and physical condition. I live on a small VA disability check of $479.00 and $197.00 of food stamps a month.  If not for the great kindness of dear friends, I would most likely be homeless. 

I suffer from many health problems, the most serious of which is kidney disease, COPD, and Congestive Heart Failure.  I receive healthcare through th Veteran's Administration.  Unfortunately, most of the specialty care I now require is located at the VA hospital in Houston, TX located over 50 miles away.  I find getting to clinic appointments to receive medical care extremely difficult because I don't have a car. Other forms of transportation to my appointments are either extremely limited, or non existant causing me to miss much needed treatment. 

I need a dependable, long term solution for my transportation problem.   I have researched, and believe I can obtain a dependable used car plus insurance for about $3000.00, but at this point, that amount is impossible for me to pay because of my severely limited resources. 

I am now at the point where I must ask for help.  This is a very, hard thing for me to do.  I have been a hard worker since 17 years of age.  I have been proud to serve my country as both a civilian, and soldier for most of my adult life, and to have served others as much as possible through my work in non profits. It has always been my pleasure to help others when I could, so it is a unique experience to now be the person in need of help.
