Make a Dream Come True

On July 3rd, 2000 a little girl was born to a mother, father, big sister and big brother. She was a deep shade of purple, 10 pounds and the size of a bowling ball. This little baby, born of a c-section, had something wrong but no one knew what. When she has handed over to her parents, the hospital doctors told the new parents this

“We do not know what is wrong with her. Something is wrong but we have not got a clue. Take her home, love her     because her heart should give out in about a week”

So her parents took her home. Her family loved her for a week, then another week, then a month, then a year. This small girl defied the odds even though no one knew what was wrong with her. Within just a year of life, she had 15 doctors to visit and many diagnose guesses. Still nothing the doctors knew about fit this girl.
Her skin turned from purple to red, the whole left side of her body grew faster and bigger than her right. Still, she kept deifying odds!
“She'll never walk!”, her old brother, only 19 months old, helped her walk.
“She'll never talk”, Though hard to understand, her first words were spoken on time.

This girl has been through it all. Day after day of pain, of being tired, her giggle would fill a room. Her smile could warm even the coldest of hearts. Her unknown condition fascinated doctor's good and bad. This baby who should have died when her first week of life, had grabbed life by the horn and was going for a ride.
At 17, after a surgery to fix the 1in different in her legs, the 17-year mystery was solved. Just after conception, the cancer gene pik3ca had activated and turned off before her mother even knew she was pregnant. Meaning that the overgrowth that effects her whole body cancer related, but it is not cancer, yet. Only about 50 people in the world have been given this diagnosis, making it so rare not even most cancer doctors have ever heard of it.
Today Hannah is a happy 18, almost 19 years old. She is excited to graduate from high school and being a new journey. Though the effects of the overgrowth are taking hold. Though her family does not know what the future holds her, they counion to live each day with her as the gift they are.
Know that you know her story, it is time you learn why this campaign was made. Hannah's parents waited years after being told that she should qualify for Make-A-Wish to make sure it was a wish Hannah really wanted. When she was 17, they decided it was time to apply and have her wish come true! Sadly, that did not happen. Hannah was turned down by Make-A-Wish because her condition was NOT life threatening. The baby girl who's heart could have just stopped at a week old, who today still fights for each day of her life, did not have a life-threatening condition.
Hannah was heartbroken because now it seemed like her wish would never come true.

Would you like to know her to wish?
Hannah wanted to go on a Disney Caribbean Cruise! She wanted to take her mother, father, sister, and brother on one last adventure as a family before her siblings grew up and left the nest. To this day, Hannah still dreams of one day going on that Disney Cruise. She wants to see Broadway-style shows, dancing around to the deck parties, explore Castaway Cay and watch a sunset on the deck in the middle of the ocean.

So to the point of this campaign. I am Hannah's older sister, and I want to make her dream come true. Now I will never have the funds to give Hannah what she would have wished for but I am going to be working to get her on that Disney Caribbean Cruise with at least me! I will be graduating with my Social Worker's degree in May then I am off to do my 2nd Disney College Program. I plan to begins saving the money needed to take her and myself on her dream cruise hopefully in 2021. It is a long ways away, a lot of money, but she deserves to have this dream come true!
So any outside help would be loved by me deeper then anyone will ever know. I want to make every moment special for her.

If you believe Hannah deserves her dream too please share this page and her story.
Hannah does not know about this page or my plan. I hope to one day surprise her with the trip!

Let the adventure begin!
