ABOUT COCO AND THE CAMP:
Over the last 15 years, Coco Rocha has had a dream career in fashion. Having walked runway for every major designer and shot covers, editorials and campaigns for the worlds most influential magazines, brands and photographers, as a model she has truly seen and done it all. Named model of the year by both Elle Magazine and Marie Claire, in 2009 Vogue Paris named her one of the top 30 models of the decade. Despite her many accolades, Coco has always lived by the truth that success does not need to come at the cost of sacrificing who you are and what your core values are.
Often considered the world's first digital supermodel, Coco broke the mold for what it means to be a model in the modern age. As one of the early adopters of social media in fashion, Coco's presence on social media gained her over 17 million followers worldwide. In 2013, Time magazine named Coco's twitter account one of the 140 best twitter feeds. Using her considerable platform, Coco claimed her voice as a force for good and was instrumental in the passage of new laws protecting underage models in New York.
Nicknamed the “Queen Of Pose” by her fans and contemporaries like Tyra Banks, Coco Rocha has made a name for herself as one of the most technically proficient and chameleon-like models of the millennium. In 2014 she literally wrote the book on posing when she published a 2000 page encyclopedia named “Study Of Pose” with Harper Collins which has gone on to become an industry staple for aspiring and established models alike.
No stranger to mentoring younger models, Coco has famously guest mentored models on “America's Next Top Model” and starred, for an entire season, on the series “The Face” along side Karolina Kurkova and Naomi Campbell. Though she was the youngest mentor on the show, Coco and her team had the overwhelming support of the public, commanding a staggering 70% of the popular vote throughout the show due to her quirky and unique style of teaching. Coco also memorably mentored Kendall and Kylee Jenner on their show “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” and has privately taught many of todays biggest modeling stars their skills in front of the camera and in their personal branding.
As a teacher, Coco is making her years of expertise and experience available to a new generation of models via The Coco Rocha Model Camp in New York State. This is a unique education by one of the few people in the world who has truly excelled in the industry, on her own terms, and can “walk the walk” as well as she talks the talk. In recognition of this, in March 2019 Coco was asked by Harvard University to teach her course on campus to 65 Harvard students. Through CRMC, models at any stage of their careers are taught to refine their posing and runway skills and to feel confident in their business decisions. Coco is on hand for the entire experience and available for open and honest discussions regarding every side of the industry. Camp class sizes are extremely small so as to allow a true one on one boutique experience. While the camps do not happen every month, Coco makes time for multiple camps a year around her own busy modeling schedule. This is a fashion education available no where else and a foundation that truly benefits the participants enrolled. Models leave with a unique skill set and the knowledge and proficiency to help them navigate the little known and often difficult career path of international modeling.
FOUR DAY "FULL CAMP" SCHEDULE:
Day One - Camp check in and orientation dinner followed by an introductory class, portfolio review and an honest discussion on each models strengths and weaknesses to be fine tuned over the next 2 days.
