Making Ends Meet

Hi all!

So as many of you know, ice got the better of me on Thanksgiving and I ended up shattering my fibula. I'm mostly healed up by now and have payment plans set up with the hospital, however there was still a pretty devastating consequence to my break: I was wrongfully terminated by my employer after only 2 shifts back from medical leave due to my temporary medical restrictions not being "cost effective" for them.

Since the beginning of January I have been without income, waiting on both disability and unemployment to kick in. Per my last conversation with the California EDD, they are backlogged with reviewing cases due to COVID and it may be upwards of 3 months before I see a payment from them. This unfortunately also applies to disability since people who get sick with COVID qualify for disability as well. I just don't have 3 months to spare.

Although I am on the hunt for employment again, whether it's medically advisable or not, I'm still drowning in financial crisis.

I'm a month behind on rent, approaching 2 months, in addition to other expenses not protected by a moratorium, such as internet and my storage unit.

All donations will go toward me keeping a roof over my head, expenses so that I don't lose irreplaceable items from deceased family members, feeding my cat, and myself. Truthfully, I need more than what my goal here even is, but even asking for this much is very uncomfortable for me right now.

I know I can get through this; I just need a hand before the very resources I need to get through this are taken from me due to nonpayment. Every little bit helps me to manage my way through this without being pushed to homelessness during the winter in Tahoe.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! 🙏🏻🖤
