Making it in America

For every immigrant who came here with a dream — started over, rebuilt, and kept going.

Coming to America often means leaving behind more than a country. It can mean leaving family, familiarity, language, community, status - sometimes an entire identity. It means starting again.

For many immigrants, "making it" is not one big moment. It's years of work, sacrifice, uncertainty, reinvention, and faith that the life you came here to build is still possible.

And sometimes, in the hardest moments, the people who keep you going are your family - the ones who hold your hand when no one else can, who remind you who you are, who make sacrifices so you can keep moving forward.

My story

I came to the United States from Ukraine in 2005, as an international visa student, with a suitcase and a dream.

It took me 20 years to become a U.S. citizen.

Along the way, I lived in five states, changed jobs many times, changed directions, and more than once had to start from scratch. That journey taught me resilience, adaptability, and the courage to keep building even when the path ahead was unclear.

I studied at UC Berkeley and Columbia University, built a career in technology and marketing, worked with leading global companies, became an entrepreneur, helped build communities, and co-founded a nonprofit supporting Ukraine.

But this story isn't about a résumé. It's about everything behind it - the restarts, the sacrifices, the uncertainty, and the people who stood beside me.

I am deeply grateful to America. This country gave me the opportunity to study, build a career, reinvent myself, become an entrepreneur, contribute to my community, and ultimately become a citizen.

Why I'm sharing it now

I've been selected to share my story through Made It in America, an episode of Inside Success TV.

That feels especially meaningful because Inside Success TV was also founded by an immigrant - making this one immigrant story helping to tell another, so it can go on to inspire many more.

Why I'm raising $30,000

I need to raise $30,000 to help produce the episode and tell this story in a way that can actually reach people, not just air once and disappear.

I want it to reach:

  • The immigrant wondering whether starting over was worth it
  • The woman rebuilding her life
  • The entrepreneur taking a risk
  • The person who's changed direction, hit a setback, or wondered if it's too late to pursue the life they imagined

I want someone watching to think: maybe I can keep going too.

We often see the success. We don't always see the 20 years it took to get there, or the number of times someone had to begin again along the way. That's the story I want to tell.

Not just my American Dream. Our dreams. Our reinventions. Our second chances.

If this story inspires even one person to take the risk, start again, or pursue a dream they almost gave up on, then sharing it will mean far more than a television appearance.

What I'm asking

Support the campaign. Share it with someone who has a dream. And tell me yours.

Because making it isn't one destination. It's having the courage to keep building the life you came here to create.
