Marcelo & Kamri : Paris Worlds
We are Marcelo & Kamri. We are ballroom dance partners, 2017 BYU National Danceport Championship Amateur Preteen Latin Finalists. In May of this year, we were fortunate enough to take second place in our division, qualifying us to represent the U.S. in the Paris Worlds, France this December.
We trained very hard last year to achieve this goal and are so excited to have made it! We have been dancing together for a little over a year and it is truly our passion. We continue to train and compete to improve our skill and artistry to prepare to compete at an international level. We are grateful for your support which will assist us to cover the cost of travel, competitions, costuming, and training.
More About Marcelo
Marcelo started jiving to the beat before his feet even hit the ground. At just shy of three years old, he joined a combo dance class where he started learning jazz, ballet, and tap. He was quite the ladies man, as all his team mates were little girls. He continued into a jazz company team and eventually found his way into ballroom at the age of six. He has danced couples ballroom for three years and spent the last two years on the BYU Youth Ballroom Team.
When he's not dancing, he's making things with his hands as he has a penchant for paper-based inventions and crafts of all kinds, herding backyard chickens, and being not half-bad at math.
More About Kamri
Kamri is a little dancing fireball. She is trained in all styles of dance and only started ballroom about a year ago. She's hardworking, motivated, and has the best attitude which must be part of the secret to her success in dance. [More to come].
We would like to thank all those who have already been supporting us in various ways, cheering us on at our competitions, buying Marcelo's hand-made crafts, etc. Thank you so much for all of your support.
