Marine vs brain cancer
In February 2020, our beloved Jeremiah was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He is a proud Marine Veteran who served our country in the desert with burn pit exposure, and he is a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and neighbor. He is the absolute best kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back, and most of all, he loves being a dad to his six-year-old daughter and his two-year-old son.
Jeremiah bravely fought through a grueling 13 hour surgery, chemo, and radiation, which gave us over five years of beautiful memories together. Tragically, the tumor started growing again. Jeremiah and Kristen traveled back and forth to Duke for months for a clinical trial and a second surgery. Because the trial wasn't working, Jeremiah was removed from it in April, but they had to go back down to Duke to finalize everything in May. That is when he came back home to Pittsburgh to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center to start taking chemo pills, but during his regular checks in August, we found out the tumor was growing again.
Now, his astrocytoma has turned highly aggressive. Jeremiah is going to the hospital this week to get a port placed so he can begin intense IV chemotherapy as an outpatient at Hillman.
He served our country for our greater good, and he deserves every single chance to fight this, beat it, and see his little girl and baby boy grow up. Right now, his wife Kristen, their two beautiful kids, his four siblings, his mother, and our entire family and friend circle are rallying around him with fierce love, faith, and prayer.
Because of the toll this aggressive treatment is taking, Jeremiah had to cut back his hours at work and Kristen is spending every moment driving him to appointments and managing his care. Even though his baseline medical treatments are service connected through the VA, the everyday bills are piling up rapidly. The financial strain is hitting hard while they are dealing with a dropping income.
We urgently need help to relieve this heavy burden so Kristen and the kids can focus entirely on keeping Jeremiah strong. Please consider donating to give this great man and his family the fighting chance they deserve, and please hit the share button to help us unlock the bonus donations on this platform. Semper Fi, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
