Marlene Perez R.I.P.

February 2026

Hello everyone,

My wife, Marlene Perez, passed away from a Cardiac Arrest on January 14,2026. Marlene was 60 years old, had multiple ailments that started in 2002 (heart attack) and was verified completely disabled by the Federal government as of May 2010. The life insurances we had purchased were for a specific type of death not natural causes which is how she passed. Marlene’s body is currently at the county morgue and won’t be seen for another 5-8 months unless I can get the money for funeral arrangements. Marlene had picked out her forever photo which was from her high school graduation. We own the burial site but need to pay for the internment cost, other credit card bills. I’m looking for help to pay these bills.

We’ve known each other since 1970 as young kids. We dated briefly in 1980 after my adult brother died.

After 27 years apart (2007) Marlene contacted me through Classmates (Hayward High school, Hayward, CA), where after talking awhile we started dating again. We moved into my parents’ home in 2009 to take care of my ill mother. During this time, I proposed to Marlene and mom wanted us married, which happened in January 2010 with my mom being our witness (my mom passed away April 2010).

Marlene became very ill during this time, so I took care of her and my father until he passed in September 2014. I was Marlene’s paid caregiver from September 2015 to January 2016. I’m currently doing odd jobs to make ends meet. I may be getting survivor benefits in May 2026 (around $1200 per month) but can only work part time to receive these benefits. This can be made possible if donations are made to pay off these debts.

Thank you,

Joseph MPerez (Marlene will always be next to me)
