As many of you already know, the Martin family is going through an unimaginable and heartbreaking situation. Erin—a loving wife to Ryan and mother to Rhys and Elena —was recently diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer called Choroidal Melanoma that has metastasized to multiple organs.

She is incredibly lucky to have a team of doctors who specialize in treating this type of cancer in her back yard, but her treatments are ongoing and incredibly expensive. She is also understandably unable to continue her work as a hospice nurse as she goes through treatment. Ryan and the rest of the family are doing everything they can to care for Erin while also keeping life as normal as possible for their children.

If you have the privilege of knowing Erin, you know she is the kindest, most generous person, and the first to offer help when someone is in need. Now it is our time to return the favor. Though asking for support does not come easily for the family, we are hoping to ease some of their financial burden so they can focus on getting Erin the treatment she needs and spending time together as a family.

Next week Erin will have her first treatment as a radiation plaque is placed in her eye to fight the primary tumor. In the coming weeks she will also have biopsies of her liver to determine possible treatments for the other sites and next steps.

While this fundraiser is intended to help with medical costs, Erin's sister has also set up a meal train to keep the family fed and help with household expenses.
