I'm one of Marty's best friends who is starting and managing this campaign for him. (My name is Monique; he calls me "Zen.")

Marty's story of the last two years has been tragic, and yet he always shows up for his friends! He started a grief group after the loss of his son in May of 2024. Even when he has been hurting, he is always present for everyone else. He has been hosting this group for well over a year.

Marty works as a driver and depends on his vehicle. Recently, someone sabotaged his vehicle by putting bleach in the gas tank. The insurance company just informed him that it is being totaled. Then, right after Christmas, while he was about an hour away at work, his house burned down. He lost everything, including the necessary medications he had already paid for and a new computer he used to livestream his grief support group on TikTok.

A restart is necessary; please help him get back on his feet! He needs to repurchase all household necessities, in addition to a down payment for rent, etc. At this point, he can't create an Amazon wishlist until he finds a house or apartment.

Because he relies on his vehicle for work and his insurance won't cover anything beyond the "actual cash value" of the vehicle, he will be left with a hefty bill.

Though Marty has no expectations for donations, I am helping because he deserves to be rid of the stress and struggles. Currently, he is renting a car and will need to begin paying for his hotel stay since his Red Cross voucher is running out. As I'm sure you can imagine, it's impossible to save.

Marty is making the best of a situation that causes many people to crumble. He is a fun guy who loves cats and had three before the fire (Sissy, Magic, and Malcolm). He was able to locate the one named Magic (see photo).
