Mary's medical expenses
Hi, this is my 9 week old daughter Mary, she has had undiagnosed issues since birth, a lot of it was “she will grow out of it”, or “oh that's normal for babies”… until it wasn't, we had to call 911 because of stridor and she stopped breathing, at the ER they suggested a swallow test scheduled for July 11, 2023 and found besides the stridor associated with something tracheal and esophageal, she is also aspirating(breathing) her feedings, which can cause numerous problems in her lungs, infections and pneumonia to name a couple. She has a ton of specialists scheduled to do expensive tests, I have great insurance but unfortunately the price of these procedures is so much larger than my insurance will cover, she is also a candidate for a program called the pediatric aerodigestive center, where a team of specialists and pediatricians can diagnose what is exactly wrong with her , to help her pulmonary (breathing) Gastrointestinal (belly) and swallow functions. I do not know if it will be $20,000.00 or however much, because I don't know truly at the end of this how much I will need, I am just asking for anything you can possibly spare for my sweet Mary, any amount will help the stress and anxiety of what's upcoming and if my wife and I will be tasked with being homeless or paying our doctors medical bills so the next specialist can be seen. God Bless and like I said , I have no idea what any of this will truly cost but we already owe about $5000 two weeks in. I appreciate and thank you even for you taking time to read this and consider. It took a lot of pride swallowing to ask for help. I am a proud man who always has taken care of my wife and kids, this is however more than my soul can handle. A sick baby not breathing has made this strong, stoic, man into a sobbing emotional and anxiety afflicted mess. She is named after my Mom and my grandmother both who have passed on. My mom passed at age 43 in 2002. So once again thank you from the depths of my soul. God bless
*** Edit *** one of my Facebook posts that were shared for this fundraiser for my daughter had someone comment “ Why doesn't he have a job?” I want everyone that donates to know that I have been with my company for 13 years and working exclusively with our business services as a advanced communications technician for the last 11 1/2 years, I have great benefits, but unfortunately, a lot of these things that she needs insurance won't cover, or only covers a percentage, including certain prescriptions, I am out on FMLA, paid parental leave that if everyone goes well with Mary ends August 29th, if, by some chance she needs more from me. At that point I will have to take true FMLA that is unpaid. Also, it is just me working right now, so we budget , if one unexpected thing comes up, that is substantially more than a couple hundred dollars it does put us in a bind, and trust me, I don't live paycheck to paycheck until now, after I have pretty much went through it for everything that she needed until I had nothing left. Maybe this will explain a little more to people and understand that it took me desperation to ask for help, I have that old school mentality of I will handle everything. I appreciate everyone that has taken the time to read this to share this and especially the donators. God bless you all
