Me&cat homeless-need help

My name is Sonarae, and right now me and my precious little baby Bean (my sweet cat child) are living in my car in Anchorage, Alaska. The temperatures have been dropping well below zero, and it has been one of the coldest winters ever and it is not seeming to warm up or be forgiving even the slightest bit unfortunately and we’re both struggling to survive the cold, and to survive each day has been such a struggle and every day I worry and cry because I wish life was not like this for me and my sweet Beanie boo.

A few months ago I was suddenly evicted with literally no warning at all, I had no clue. My roommate had been toxic, never helped with bills or chores, and kept everything hidden from me, and blamed me for everything that ever went wrong. Then one day, the police showed up, and I had only 10 minutes to grab Bean and whatever I could carry to my car. Everything else I owned from the past couple of years — clothes, furniture, keepsakes, all of my valuables and all of Bean’s toys and cat trees and special things she’s had since she was a kitten — was left behind. The apartment was later broken into and everything was stolen. I later learned it was my roommate’s family and someone I thought was a close friend (who I had been helping financially and letting stay with me) who took part in the theft. I was left with nothing. With no where to go. And no one to ask for help. I have no one who cares, except for Bean.

Since that day we’ve been sleeping in my car. I don’t have a driver’s license, so I live in constant fear of getting pulled over and losing the car — and losing Bean with it and there is nowhere safe to park in Anchorage without scary people trying to mess with me constantly, and if not them, then I am constantly in fear of the cops rolling up on me while I have my car running and warming up because you’re not allowed to live in your vehicle here and there are no places to park legally and they can literally impound my car and take me to jail for driving without a License so I am constantly having to find new places to park. The freezing weather has already caused frostbite on my hands and feet and my face multiple times and I have permanent damage from being so cold for so long. The car has also been having mechanical problems, like last month my heater wasn’t working and it took forever for me to get it fixed. Every night we worry about being robbed or harassed again. My anxiety is constant, and the depression is crushing. I just want somewhere safe & warm where Bean and I can finally rest & simply exist without fear.

I’m asking for $3,000 in emergency help funds so we can get into a 1-bedroom or studio apartment here in Anchorage. This amount will cover:

•  First month’s rent

•  Last month’s rent

•  Security deposit

•  Pet deposit (Bean is a well-behaved, neutered indoor cat)

With this help we can finally get off the streets, out of the deadly cold, and into a stable home. Bean is my little angel — my only family — and I can’t keep watching her shiver or live in fear anymore she hates being in the car so much! She deserves warmth, safety, and a real home just as much as I do.

Any amount helps — even $1, $5 or $10 adds up fast on FreeFunder. If you can’t donate, please share this campaign. I have no family to turn to and nowhere else to go. Your kindness could literally save our lives and give us the fresh start we desperately need.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
