Hello kind humans of the world, we are Aiyana + Scarlett

Us, along with our dear friends who you will see helping us here (Rachel, Connor, Paul) are reaching out for help for our urgent situation. 

We have revamped this fundraiser, as much has changed and it had gotten confusing- see details below \/ see last section for a raffle opportunity \/

MAIN POINTS:

~ We are a disabled couple, trying to make it on our own* in a broken system 

~ *We were suddenly lacking our support system requiring us to try and do so before disability accepted us or a job was found 

~ We will have no residence come the 31st of this month (yes- 3 days from now!)

I͟T͟E͟M͟I͟Z͟E͟D͟ E͟X͟P͟E͟N͟S͟E͟ L͟I͟S͟T͟: What you are giving to

• Treatments - $400 per month (receiving some pro-bono for now, which is a huge amount of savings monthly)

• Housing + utilities - $1200-ish per month 

• Food/groceries/hydration - $250 per month (benefits not yet assigned from gov, receiving help from local church)

• Pet care(service dog) - $150 per month

• Misc medical/health - $200 per month 

• Car/gas - $200 per month + $200 for repairs

BRIEF RUN-DOWN: Who you are giving to 

• Aiyana is a strong + compassionate woman who has lived with chronic illness most of her life, leading to multiple near death experiences and an eye for the beauty and humor in the ironic and dark parts of life. Living with a body that is dying, a mind with a fascinating view of the world, + a gift for writing has led to beautiful written works on her experiences. Hoping to publish one day, she continues to take the next best step each day,(from bed as she is bed-bound most days) beat the odds of her illness and her mental health, and is managing her best through the anxiety and stress of being an ill, queer, neurodivergent young woman in todays system. After falling in love with her caregiver Scarlett, she is excited to serve Jesus with her new love by her side. She is learning that she is worthy of love and support and thanks you all for your generosity ♥︎

• Scarlett is a fiery + loving woman who's lifelong chronic illness went undetected until her teen years, leading her on a journey of using her morbid sense of humor and God's grace to make it through the battle against her mind and body. Healing to a point of mostly illness management she began caretaking for Aiyana and advocating their story. Her dream is to become a potter, (the one with clay not the wizards ;) and have her own business selling candles and pottery, possibly with graphic design work on the side. She is learning her best is enough and to embrace all parts of life equally, and that asking for help is okay. Your donations have brought her so much joy and relief and she is extremely grateful ♡

• Their goal as a couple is to live full time in an RV/Van/Camper, so that all medical supplies and comforts can be kept close as they travel for doctors and also to inspire their art. They will be heading to Ohio this coming spring, to receive more testing and treatments for their various illnesses as doctors in Tucson have hit their limit of how to help and the Mayo Clinic is swamped. Fundraising was started to facilitate the move to Ohio swiftly, but plans went awry after their coming out announcement brought some unexpected changes in their lives, and they are trying to make it through the winter months here in Tucson with a roof over their heads and continue treatments that will help their bodies be able to make the move eastward.
