Medical care for Moose
Our beloved cat Moose has been very, very sick for almost two months. His whole digestive system is inflamed, making it very hard for him to keep down food and even harder for him to get enough nutrients out of it. He has lost a third of his body weight and spends most of his days hiding under the bed in pain. We haven't heard his little Moosey meow in so long that it's getting hard to remember what it sounds like.
His veterinarians have been stumped. We have put him through round after round of tests, and there is still no clear diagnosis as to why Moose is suffering so much. We have taken him to over a dozen visits in total, including his regular vet, an internal medicine specialist, and two trips to the emergency room - one of which resulted in an overnight stay. It has been an emotional rollercoaster, to say the least. We love him so much and will stop at nothing to bring our little boy back to health.
However, our commitment to him has really chewed through our savings. The total outlay so far has been over $7,000. While his insurance has been helpful in covering about half of that amount so far, we have now exceeded Moose's annual limit, and we are still not out of the woods. Next...he will need a $5,000 biopsy. And then...there is a chance he will need to be on chemotherapy for the rest of his life, which could end up costing us over $10,000. We will do whatever it takes to help our Moose, but it has put a serious dent in the money we have been putting aside to build our future with.
We know that everyone is feeling the economic crunch these days. But, if you are able to give, know that any contribution would be very, very much appreciated. Please help us nurse our little Moosey boy back to health.
