Medical Debt Relief
Help Us Through One of the Hardest Seasons of Our Lives ❤️
I never thought I would be the person writing something like this.
Asking for help is incredibly hard for me. In fact, admitting that we need help may be one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I have always been someone who works hard, takes care of what needs to be taken care of, and does whatever I can to provide for my family. I am not used to asking people to help carry my burdens.
But right now, I need to be honest about where we are.
Unexpected health problems involving my heart have changed our lives in ways we never anticipated. What started as a health issue has brought appointments, testing, treatment, and medical expenses that we simply weren’t prepared for. On top of the emotional and physical toll of dealing with my health, the financial stress has become overwhelming.
Right now, I am unable to work because of my health. That has been incredibly difficult for me—not only financially, but emotionally. There is a certain feeling that comes with wanting to work, wanting to contribute, wanting to take care of your family, but your body simply won’t allow you to do what you’re used to doing.
Meanwhile, the bills continue to come.
Our regular household expenses haven’t stopped, and neither have the medical bills. We are doing everything we can to keep things together, but we have reached a point where the weight of it all has become more than we can manage on our own.
I want people to know that I am not asking for help because I don’t want to work or because I expect others to take care of us. Quite the opposite.
I want to earn my way through this.
As my health allows, I will continue doing anything honest and reasonable that I can to bring in money. I will sell things, take on small jobs, offer services, bake, organize, run errands—whatever I can safely do. I will continue fighting to pay this debt down myself. I just need some help getting through the part of this journey where I am not physically able to work like I normally would.
Our goal is not simply to pay a few bills. Our goal is to get our family out from underneath the weight of this unexpected medical debt and find some financial breathing room again.
If you can donate, please know that there are no words big enough to explain what that would mean to us. Whether it is $5, $10, $20, or whatever you are able to give, every single dollar will help.
If you can’t donate, please don’t feel bad. Sharing this fundraiser may be just as valuable. You never know who might see it and be able to help.
I have spent a lot of time debating whether I should even make this fundraiser. There is embarrassment in admitting that you can’t handle everything yourself. There is fear in putting your personal struggles out in the open. And there is a lot of vulnerability in saying, “We need help.”
But sometimes being strong doesn’t mean doing everything alone.
Sometimes being strong means admitting when you need someone to reach out a hand.
So, with a very humbled heart, I am asking for that hand.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Thank you for sharing, donating, praying, checking on us, or simply reminding us that we aren’t alone.
We are doing everything we can to get through this. We just need a little help along the way. ❤️
