The details:

Jeff and I have been together for a total of 31 years, celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary this month, and have two amazing sons, Colton and Ryan. Earlier this week, Jeff suffered from an unexpected and serious seizure. It was a terrifying event that he doesn't remember, but that I will never forget. He was unresponsive and having extreme difficulty breathing for far too long. Thankfully the episode eventually passed and he went by ambulance to the ER. It was quite the ordeal, though he still doesn't remember anything that happened. Later MRI results also showed an older incident, described as a mini stroke type infarction, that seems to have happened sometime in the past 1-2 years. He has been prescribed medications and is home now, and though still exhausted, he is feeling better and on the mend. It's all been very concerning and will require indefinite ongoing follow ups with a Neurologist.

After the ambulance ride and 12 hours in the ER hallway, he was admitted for two further days to finish the needed tests; he had much blood work done, as well as an EKG, CT, EEG & MRI. This sentence alone is why we are requesting donations, as we can only imagine the large final costs of these bills. I have set the goal high because I just don't know what to expect yet and Jeff, unfortunately, has no current insurance to help cover the expenses, and with the current economic issues, this year has been quite tough on his business. Due to the seizure, he is unable to drive (by law) for a minimum of 3 months; now temporarily unable to work full time, plus a week of work lost will be very financially difficult. With daily expenses and household bills piling up, and all the looming medical costs, we are asking for any help you may be able to offer for the necessary follow-up Neurological visits, tests and medication, as well as the costs incurred from the ambulance, hospital stay and extensive tests.
