Medical insurance
Hey everyone. This is a difficult post for me to make, especially because I've had to make similar posts in the past. I absolutely hate having to come back and ask for help again, but sometimes life throws more at you than you can manage on your own. Right now, I'm at a point where I need to swallow my pride and reach out.
Recently, I transitioned from working as a bus driver to a new position as a Campus Tech at an elementary school. I'm grateful for this new opportunity, but the transition also meant moving from a biweekly paycheck to a monthly pay schedule. Unfortunately, adjusting to that change has put me in a difficult financial position, and I'm struggling to catch up on rent and other bills.
With my new job, my regular payday is the 28th of each month, while rent is due on the 3rd. Unfortunately, the timing has made it difficult to keep up with payments while I adjust to this new schedule.
The most urgent issue right now is our health insurance. I'm about four months behind, and I've been notified that my policy is at risk of being terminated unless I pay the outstanding balance of $1,635.80 by October 18th.
This is about more than simply losing insurance coverage. I'm extremely worried that losing the policy could leave us responsible for medical expenses we've already incurred, totaling well over $100,000. The thought of facing that kind of financial burden is terrifying, and I'm doing everything I can to prevent it from happening.
On top of the insurance, I'm also working to catch up on rent and late fees. Kerry and I have been picking up our usual D&D gigs along with additional Halloween-season work to bring in extra money. We're doing everything we can, but unfortunately, what we're earning won't be enough to cover everything in the time we have.
I'm not asking for help without being willing to work for it. I'm happy to put my time, skills, and creativity toward earning the money we need.
Here are some things I can offer:
🎲 D&D Games: I can run a private D&D session or one-shot for your group.
🎨 Custom Artwork: I can draw a picture or create a custom illustration.
🖥️ Graphic Design: I can create graphics for your business, social media, events, or personal projects.
🌐 Web Design: I can build a webpage or help create a simple website for your project or business.
If there's another creative or technical project you need help with, feel free to reach out. I'm happy to discuss ideas and work out a fair price.
Because of the October 18th deadline and how urgently I need to get the insurance payment together, I may need to ask for payment upfront on some projects rather than after the work is completed. I know that's not always ideal, and I'll be upfront about that before agreeing to any work. I appreciate your understanding as I try to meet this deadline.
If you're in a position to help financially, any amount would mean so much to us. If you can't contribute, I completely understand. Sharing this post, recommending me for a project, or connecting me with someone who could use my skills would also help tremendously.
I hate having to make another post like this. It's difficult to admit when you're struggling, especially when you feel like you should be able to handle everything yourself. I'm working hard to build a more stable future with my new job, but right now, I'm struggling to bridge the gap and keep everything from falling further behind.
To everyone who has helped us in the past, shared our posts, hired us for work, or checked in on us, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I haven't forgotten your kindness, and I don't take any of it for granted.
We're not giving up, and we're doing everything we can to work through this. We just need a little help getting over this hurdle.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for any support, in whatever form it may come. ❤️
