Megan Patterson School Housing
My name is Megan Patterson. I am a 29 year old with a dream and lots of determination! I am a Mississippi native, born and raised in McComb. I have three young children who mean the world to me which is why I am so determined to complete my Degree in Engineering at Mississippi State University. My Mother has been a blessing and helps me with my kids. She instills the same values and importance of education in them as she has me.
Unfortanantly I've had a major car repair ($1000) and had to use my saved housing deposit money to pay for it. This is a major set back for me. My awarded tuition scholarship to MSU is in jeopardy. I need assistance to pay for my deposits for housing and basic utilities. I have my job lined up and will start work once I get into housing in Starkville.
My path to reach my dream has taken many turns. I am more determined to stay focused and reach my education goals. I am determined to make a better life for my family.
I recently graduated from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Gulfport MS in December 2016 with an Associate of Arts Degree in Civil Engineering. I plan on attending Mississippi State University in Starkville to further my education and acquire a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. I have worked very hard to maintain good grades and attendance throughout my time at Ms Gulf Coast Community College. I have been awarded a tuition scholarship for my hard work and good standings to now attend Mississippi State University in Starkville Ms. I have also applied for financial aid and other scholarships as well but in reality tuition for a university is very high, even with in-state tuition prices. Any money donated by you to help me with my housing will be greatly appreciated. I know that once I get started and get the ball rolling at Ms State U. that my hard work ethic and good grades will continue.
