Two of my granddaughters just lost their father. Diligently and thoroughly searching through all his paperwork, the provisions for his funeral expenses and the college education he believed was in place for the youngest, either does not exist, or was not purchased long enough ago for it to pay out. Unfortunately, he simply died sooner that anyone ever expected, including him!
How do you comfort the grandchildren you love with all your heart as you hold them in your arms and try to explain that he meant well, his intentions were good, but there is not even enough money to bury him or plan a funeral!! They are only 18 and 9 years old. Their older sister is barely in her 20's. They should be grieving their loss, not burdened with trying to figure out how to pay for funerals and burial. The city of Rathdrum will not allow anything to move forward without payment of all cemetery and burial fees. We would like to bury him on Thursday, June 29th.
Unfortunately, no one around the girls is flush with the necessary resources to satisfy the immediate financial need, and they themselves certainly are not.

September 30, 1956 - June 15, 2017
Michael Wayne Bradley, age 60, passed away in his sleep of acute respiratory distress at his home in Rathdrum, Idaho, on June 15, 2017. He lived for his children, grandchildren, and motorcycles.
Michael was born September 30, 1956 in Oakland, California to Frank (aka "Ernie") and Lena (Montoya) Bradley. He spent his early childhood in California, leaving home at the young age of 13. Michael traveled the country for a time. He also traveled the country later as a professional truck driver. He eventually moved to North Idaho where he raised his son and three daughters, the youngest of which is only nine (9) years old. Michael owned and operated his own trucking business, MB Express, for several years before he became disabled and unable to continue working. Throughout his adult life, he was instrumental in helping several local people through troubled times.
He tried to spend as much time as possible with his 9 year old daughter. They often tried to go to the stock car races, the circus, swimming, motorcycle shows, watch movies together, etc., but his oxygen needs and multiple medical problems always seemed to interfere. So Mike purchased life insurance to be sure expenses were covered when he passed. Unfortunately, it's only been a year, nearly to the day, and the insurance company requires two years to pay full benefits, or they simply return premiums. Sadly, even the things he thought would pay for his 9 year old's college education will not happen. Without insurance or savings, we are forced to raise the money to honor his last wishes.
Mike is survived by his son Justin, and three daughters, Mykala, Lavita, and Lena, as well as his grandchildren, Alice, Charlie, and a third due in August. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins primarily in California. He was preceded in death by his natural parents, as well as his adopted parents, Vern and Peggy Archambeault. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
A Celebration of Michael's life will be held June 30, 11:30 a.m., at Bell Tower Funeral Home in Post Falls. Burial will be at Pinegrove Cemetery in Rathdrum, Idaho. A Potluck reception will follow at Rathdrum City Park.
NOTE: Any funds donated beyond the cost of a modest funeral and graveside services will be placed in trust for his youngest daughter's education.
