I couldn't do this without you, every single one of you telling me not to give up, telling me to go after what I need and my dreams and well-being, supporting me after 6 years of two nearly-there attempts at top surgery and much heartbreak and devastation moving through gender-affirming care in this medical system. Logistics: The approval from insurance has come through and the surgery is expected to be 100% covered by insurance! The surgery will be this summer 2026. What isn't covered is a month off of work for recovery, living expenses for that time including rent, utilities, food, supporting a care team, and travel expenses to and from appointments. This comes to approximately $6,500 (plus an extra $300 to cover stripe fees through this platform).
