Hi Folks! 

My name's Mike and this is a fundraiser for my medical expenses from a traumatic burn. 

Just over a year ago, on October 13th, 2023, I suffered 3rd degree burns on 62% of my body while rescuing my dog, Argos, from a boiling hot spring near Great Basin National Park. We both made it out of the spring and ran to the trailhead where we received medical attention. Tragically, Argos did not survive, but being the loyal companion I knew him to be, he made sure to get me to safety.

In the hospital and beyond, my family, friends, and community have taken the baton with gusto by keeping me motivated, cheerful, and moving forward. With all your help, I've made it out of the hospital, made an incredible recovery thus far, and am still blowing doctors expectations away. I'm already capable of doing most of the things I love and that's very much because of you, my community of incredible humans. Now, I need you one more time!

While I’ve had a whopping $4.8 million in medical costs covered by insurance since the accident, I’ve incurred $74,000 of medical debt (expected to increase to $92,000 by year’s end) from ongoing surgeries and medical supplies.
