Mike Rowe Eagle Scout Project
Hello
My name is Mike Rowe. I am 17 and was born and raised in central New Jersey. I have been in the scouting program for 11 years now (starting in kindergarten at age 6). I am currently a Life Scout, the second highest rank in Boy scouts, and I have been working on achieving my Eagle Scout rank. In order to do so, I need to demonstrate my leadership capabilities by planning, organizing, and completing an Eagle Scout project of my choosing.
For my project, I will be leading the construction of a kiosk at the trailhead as well as a few boardwalks along the Rocky Brook Trail to help visitors better plan and navigate the trail. The Rocky Brook Trail is a wilderness walking/hiking trail that runs 1.6 miles from Route 518 to Snydertown Rd in East Amwell. The trail runs along a segment of the Stony Brook river system, with massive stone slabs lining the brook, small waterfalls and pools, and views of the stream from its banks as well as from high rises above the stream. Near its northern end, the trail offers two paths, along the west and east sides of the Rocky Brook, joined at both ends with brook crossings to form a loop. I have been working with my Scoutmaster, Eagle advisor and the East Amwell Township Committee to plan this project.

Why I Need Your Help
As part of my project, I am responsible for raising the money to purchase the supplies needed to purchase all of these supplies. The cost of all project materials and rentals is about $800. Your funds and donations will make this project possible to improve a beautiful hiking trail and help myself and others become better leaders, as well as help me achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. I appreciate all those who have read this fundraising proposal and hope you will consider donating to this worthwhile cause.
My Promise
I promise that all funds will go directly to the creation of this project and I promise to see the project through to its completion. After the project is completed, if there are any remaining funds, they will go directly to Troop 65 and set aside for other Eagle Scout Projects in the future. Know that any donations made will make a difference in the community, to those that visit the trail, and help me and other scouts grow and learn to be better citizens of the world.
