MIMS OM World Finals
The MIMS Odyssey of the Mind Team Sies Siete is headed to the World Finals!
What began last year as a small group of curious, creative thinkers has grown into a thriving MIMS OM club, now six teams strong, built on collaboration, creativity, and imagination.
Team Sies Siete, led by Coach Wang and Co-Coach Li, represents the very heart of that journey. Over the past seven months, they have dedicated countless hours to brainstorming, building, and learning to embrace challenges.
Their problem this year centers around designing and building a balsa wood structure, an engineering challenge that requires precision and creativity. The team must construct a structure capable of holding significant weight while also presenting a performance that tells a story. Through trial and error, redesigns, and testing, they’ve learned how to build stronger structures and how to think like engineers and collaborators.
Their hard work paid off as they earned 2nd place at Regionals and 1st place at the State Competition, securing their advancement to the World Finals. There, they will compete against nearly 800 teams from around the world, showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and innovative problem-solving skills on a global stage.
Now, they need our support.
Together, as a club and a close-knit school community, we are coming together to support our teammates on their journey to the World Finals. Your contributions will help cover essential travel expenses, including airfare, dorm accommodations with meals, local transportation, and the cost of transporting their competition props.
World Finals will be held at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, from May 27th to 30th.
If you’re able, please consider supporting Team Sies Siete and helping them represent our community on the world stage. Your generosity truly makes a difference.
