Mina is an 8 month old puppy, the spoiled baby girl of Mandee and Dan. After Mandee lost their dog of 10 years, Brady, they weren't sure if they would recover. After Brady's passing, Mandee wrote "My first experience of unconditional and supportive love was from a dog. And he's gone. And I'm all alone again." Though Mina could never replace Brady, last fall, Mandee and Dan adopted the adorable Mina and she has brought such joy and love to their little family. And yesterday, Mina ate a pencil (as puppies do, she found it somewhere no human could see). Mina was taken to the emergency vet, where they found she had a fever. Mina was given X-Rays, an IV, anti nausea injections, probiotics, high fiber food, and coating for her tummy. Though they found no obvious puncture wounds, Mina returned to the hospital today and will be hospitalized overnight. She may need surgery, fluids, and an ultra sound. It's already cost Mandee and Dan 3200 dollars and counting that they don't have, especially as Mandee is a full time student. They love their dogs and just suffered a major loss. I hope you can help us save Mina and ease the financial burden. Mandee and Dan are the most loving, generous, people--they have fed me, helped me through major life crises and given me more rides home than I can count.
