Miracles for Kinley

*UPDATE: We were able to reach our first goal of $20k in less than 36 hours… THANK YOU!! Our community has gone above and beyond to support Kinley’s battle and we could not be more humbled and appreciative for the love pouring over my sister’s family! With that said, we have increased the goal in hopes of helping them cover the medical expenses that lie ahead.. all of which could change at any given point due to the complexities involved with this diagnosis. As of now, they anticipate the following:

  • 27 weeks of chemo treatments, with hospital stay for one full week, every other week, best case scenario.
  • Home health care during the time Kinley is able to be home.
  • Weekly blood transfusions (she is O positive)
  • Hospital stay between treatments should there be any emergency setbacks or fever spikes during her off weeks.
  • CT/PET scans every 1-2 months so that doctors can assure treatment is on the right path.
  • Radiation once chemo is complete.

In the middle of all of this, Megan and Jordan’s son, Cohen (age 10), will require a routine schedule, with commutes between Lafayette & Baton Rouge taking turns at home with him every couple of days to ensure that he maintains his schooling once the new year begins. #ittakesavillage

INTRO: Kinley Spencer (age 12), was recently diagnosed with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCT), an extremely rare tissue cancer that boasts less than 200 cases ever documented, and even less in young females. Within only 2 weeks leading up to her diagnosis on June 2, 2025, Kinley has endured several surgeries to drain fluids from her stomach, accompanied by several blood transfusions in order to stabilize blood counts to the levels required for the rigorous chemotherapy treatment plan that is to follow.

In only her second week into treatments, the overseeing doctors of St. Jude, and Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge face continuous hurdles to keep her treatment plan fluid. Due to constant changes in conditions, Kinley is being monitored around the clock to administer treatments to these various conditional changes. As Kinley battles this uncommon beast, her family and loved one’s battle with her to keep her faith strong and spirits high. Megan Spencer (mother), beat breast cancer at the age of 28, and is no stranger to the fight ahead. This family is ready to go to war once again for their precious daughter. The road ahead will not be easy, nor will it be without many challenges. As we continue to help them run their small business to keep the income flowing, we actively look for ways to help raise funds to cover the medical expenses they accrue daily.

The Spencer Family has dedicated their life and business to helping and supporting their community through stewardship and donating meals to those in need on a weekly basis. The outpouring of those willing to donate blood in Kinley’s name has been miraculous through the 3 blood drives held thus far. The credits applied in her name will bank more blood than she shall ever need for transfusions. But these wonderful acts of kindness will not touch the financial burdens to come. We believe that our Lord and Savior still works miracles, and Kinley is in need of just that! We are not a family that seeks handouts, but in times like these the Spencer Family will need all the help they can get.

Any and all donations, not matter how small, will assist the Spencer family with Medical Bills directly associated with the ongoing treatments for Kinley Spencer’s battle with this extremely rare cancer. If you cannot donate monetarily, please continue in prayer as the Power of our God has the power to change it all! Pray for a miracle to fully heal Kinley, and pray for Jordan, Megan, and Cohen to continue to find strength to fight alongside her everyday.

"Heavenly Father, we come before you with a heavy heart, asking for your healing touch on Kinley Spencer. We know you love this child deeply, and we trust in your divine plan. Please comfort Kinley in her pain and fears. Guide the doctors and nurses with your wisdom, and grant every treatment success. Surround Kinley with your angels and fill their heart with peace and hope. We ask for your healing power to flow into her body and restore her health. Thank you, Lord, for your love and mercy. We pray for your strength to carry us through this time. In Jesus' name, Amen."
