Jake, Ella, and I will be headed to Nashville for a mission trip in June. Prior to going back to teaching, I organized groups at the churches I worked at to go on mission trips for 8 years and planned numerous fundraisers to help offset the cost for families. By the time my own kids were old enough to attend, I was no longer working at a church. I didn't want them to miss out on this incredible experience, so I continued to take a small group each summer.
