On Friday December 4th my dad Tim Schaar (better well known as Mr.Tim) suffered a stroke.

He is an amazing father, son, friend, husband, brother, and most of all grandfather. He's the man who rides his Harley motorcycle all year round at 65 years old. It doesnt matter the weather as long as the roads are clear. He used to train german shepherds and has always had a love for animals big and small. He loves watching WWE and Ultimate Fighting, and football on Sundays of course. He's a hippie who's outside as much as he can soaking up the sun relaxing watching nature or working on some kind of project. He always wants to stay busy. He recently just retired November 10th 2020 on his 65th birthday. He worked at CCC building pocket doors for many many years of his life. He was very excited to be home with the grandkids full time. For those of you who know him you're well aware of how attached he is to his little buddies. If there was a room of 1,000 people the boys would always run to my dad hands down. Myla has a sweet spot in his heart as well and he would do anything for all 3 of them. Him not being around these last few days has been especially rough on the kids. They just don't understand where their papa is and why he's not home. From big badass biker to a gentle giant, his demeanor is so amazing especially when he's around them. His eyes light up and his smile gets so big. They bring him so much joy.

We celebrate small victories daily from hand squeezes and body movement to him opening his eyes for just a few seconds. He is a very strong willed tough man with a lot of life left in him. We have a long road ahead between getting him awake and well, out of the hospital, and to many many months of therapy.

He hasn't responded well to pressure therapy with the ventilator, now has an ammonia, and still has trouble with his BP. Moving forward we had to make some decisions to help his breathing. He will be getting a tracheostomy and a possible feeding tube in his stomach. He hasn't been able to swallow yet. All the tubes in his face, down his throat and in his nose cause him major irritation and they think it's affecting progress. We also have to limit stimulation for him as of right now because his BP gets way to high.

Everyday is so unknown and worrysome for everyone who loves and cares for him. We appreciate every single message, prayer, nurse, and doctor. Anyone who is following for updates and keeping us in their thoughts. I've never cried so much in my life and just want my dad back home and well.

I'm doing this mainly because on top of all the stress and worry medical bills are stacking up fast and my mom really feels the weight and wants to problem solve everything. She doesn't know this is up. I have no idea how much everything will be after insurance and feel guilty reaching out.

Anything helps in the long run and we are all truly so appreciative of everyone. Thank you for taking the time to read my dad's story.
