Music Soothes the soul
Yandy Garcia Palacio started drumming on the rims of old car wheels when he was 9 years old. Growing up in Cuba without the resources to buy a drum set, Yandy had rhythm in his soul that had to be expressed.
Please help us with money for rent and expenses. Berklee College of Music in Boston recognized Yandy's talents and gave him a full scholarship. The scholarship does not include housing, food etc.
Yandy arrived to his first U.S visit and a snow storm, with no boots, gloves or winter clothes. Learning English was one of many challenges.
When Yandy was 12 years old, with his love for drums, he played for Alain Perez. With his undaunted passion for music Yandy sat down at the drum set and played. The rest is history, Alain recognized this amazing young talent. Yandy started touring Spain with Alain Perez and his band.
Yandy is a drummer you will hear about for years to come. Dedicated, inspired and committed he needs our help. Huge thanks to those of you who are his angels, housing him rent fee, buying the computer he needed for school, giving him warm clothes, sheets, towels and a huge welcome. He needs a home close to school.
To show our gratitude we will have a garden concert for all of you who have expressed your kindness, with Yandy playing of course.
Music soothes our souls. with deep gratitude
