Merry Christmas Eve, everybody. My name is Sadie and I'm 24. For privacy reasons, I am omitting my last name and location but the reason for this campaign is simple.. I want better. I've been in an abusive relationship with my sons father for 3 years now. I left him once when I found out I was pregnant but fell for his empty promises and the naive notion that having a family would change him....so I mistakenly went back shortly before I gave birth to the true love of my life. Today, a second chance to leave unexpectedly fell into my lap when he was arrested from our apartment after almost comically pocket dialing 911 as he assaulted me. Without hesitation, I seized it. So when he gets out, he'll be returning to an empty home. My son and I are at my sisters house for the time being but will need to find a place he doesn't know before he's released. I have a part time job and have already submitted applications for higher paying positions but in the meantime, I really just need a little help. I pray that even if you don't have the means to donate, your compassion and understanding might inspire you to pass my story on to your friends or family. It's not often that life gives us the opportunity to leave everything behind and start from scratch.. But this is mine.
