My kids don’t know santa
sit on the edge of my bed writing this to tell all of you that I’ve failed as a mother. I don’t deserve help, but here I am asking for it. I’ve put own needs in front of my children’s all year- paying for school out of my own pocket because I don’t qualify for financial aid but not applying for scholarships that I knew were there, going to work, paying for a car that I could have downgraded, buying things for work and the house and honestly everything under the sun. I’ve realized as I had been putting my daughter to sleep earlier she had asked me if Santa is going to come this year and I’ve been so lost in my mind that I looked around and there isn’t a tree, or presents or any inclination that it’s Christmas time in my home. This is the first and only year I’ve forgotten it’s Christmas in a few days and I have nothing to show for any of the “hard work” I’ve put in this year going into the new year. I honestly just ignored my daughter, and put her to sleep after reading her a book, walked into my room area (I live In a studio so there aren’t doors here) and cried in my pillow. I forgot to appreciate my kids and how good they are all year and the one time of the year they get to know they are on the nice list, they don’t get to know this year. I’m not expecting anything to come of the post if I’m honest I just really wanted the next person to read this to know to appreciate what they are able to give their children this year and I hope that their children really know and appreciate that you thought of them and they are good kids and have been put on the nice list because Santa knows who they are.
thank you.
