Help Me Build a Professional Voiceover Booth

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,

I hope this message finds you well.

I wanted to share an exciting opportunity that has recently come my way and invite you to be a part of this next chapter in my journey.

After completing my voice acting training, I have been fortunate enough to secure my first professional audiobook contract. An author has entrusted me with narrating three books across two different series: Hunt Beneath Dead Stars (Book 2 of one series) and the first two books of The Anglion Mountain War series, Iron Storm and The Long Walk East.

This opportunity represents much more than a single project. It is the beginning of what I hope will become a long and rewarding career bringing stories to life through narration.

At the moment, I am recording from a makeshift booth in my closet. While it has allowed me to get started, it presents several challenges. The space is extremely cramped, ventilation is virtually nonexistent, and the recording environment requires far more editing and re-recording than a properly treated space would. The result is more time spent battling technical limitations and less time focusing on delivering the best possible performance.

To solve these challenges, I have designed a custom-built, modular vocal booth that will provide professional-level sound isolation, acoustic treatment, and quiet ventilation. The booth will be fully demountable, meaning it can be assembled, disassembled, and moved whenever needed without becoming a permanent fixture in my home.

Building this booth will allow me to produce cleaner, more professional audio, reduce editing time, and create a comfortable environment where I can work for extended recording sessions without sacrificing quality.

I have researched the design carefully and assembled a detailed materials list. While unexpected expenses may arise during construction, the budget below represents approximately 95-98% of the materials needed to complete the project.

Proposed Sound Booth Project

Project Overview

The planned booth will measure approximately 5' x 5' x 7' and will be constructed specifically for audiobook narration and voiceover work. It will combine acoustic isolation, sound absorption, and silent ventilation to create a comfortable recording environment capable of producing broadcast-quality audio.

Its modular design ensures it can travel with me wherever life takes me.

Every contribution, whether large or small, helps move this project closer to reality. More importantly, your support helps me invest in a craft that I am passionate about and gives me the opportunity to continue growing as a narrator and voice artist.

Even if you're unable to contribute financially, your encouragement, kind words, and willingness to share this project with others are appreciated more than you know.

As construction progresses, I look forward to sharing updates, photos, and video of the booth build so you can see firsthand the impact your support has made.

As a Small Thank You

While your support and encouragement are more than enough, I would love the opportunity to share some of the stories I'm helping bring to life. As a small token of my appreciation, contributors may receive complimentary audiobook copies from my current narration projects:

With sincere gratitude,

Eric
