Natalie's Medical & Bills

I had a unexpected accident. I am asking for help to pay my rent, utilities and help with medical expenses. This horrible accident put me financially in a devistating position. I went from debt free to buried in $25,000 in debt and still adding up.

I am the person who helps everyone and to ask for help myself is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. But it is my only hope at keeping the heat, water, lights on, having a place to live and not be on the street homeless. Also, to help pay some of the medical expenses that they are already turning in to collections.

On Aug 20th, I was cleaning with a spray bottle of isopropyl alcohol and some spray caught a candle and blew up. Blowing 30% of the skin off my body. My face, nose, neck, chest, arms, thighs, legs and feet the skin was blown right off. I was taken by ambulance to the Regions Burn Center in St. Paul and put into ICU care with 2nd degree burns.

The recovery has been extremely painful and challenging. My skin has healed good and still healing. However, the nerves were damaged and held me back from returning to work. I can stand for almost two hours before my legs and feet start a burning sensation and feels like a million pins and needles causing me to have to sit immediately to get rid the pain. At my job I have to stand 10-12 hours so the doctors will not release me to return to work until I can be physically able to handle it even part time.

I have been out of work 3 months. During this time I have fallen behind on rent and utilities. With the threat of having disconnection. My landlord has been patient, but that's wearing thin.

The medical bills have climbed to over $15,000. Each follow-up appointment twice a month needed to keep my job is $628 for 15 minutes. That's $1200 a month just to keep my job.

I am doing my best to heal and get back to a normal life and return to work. Unfortunately, it could be another month or two before I can. They say everyone is one medical emergency away from becoming homeless and I am finding that out myself at this moment.

Financially I am not able to survive that and still have a home with the holidays and winter coming.

Any support that can help me survive this extremely horrific situation with medical and living expenses is deeply appreciated from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.
