I work as a delivery driver for Amazon Flex, which means I deliver using my personal vehicle. Recently, my car broke down on the job with an apparent transmission issue. It isn't drivable, so now I can't work at all. The repair estimates are completely outside of my budget, and the repair is beyond my own means to attempt. The job doesn't pay enough to use a rental car. I don't have family with an extra car I can borrow.

I need help badly. If I could get the car repaired, I can get back to work instantly and try to take care of all the chain-reaction problems myself. I have the job. I want to work. I'm able to work. But the car is broken. Everything is getting worse by the day with no income. This has already made me late on bills, including auto insurance, and shortly I won't be able to afford food. Nobody tells you that food assistance requires transportation to go get it on their schedule. 

I've never been in this situation before, and it's hard to get my head around it, and how quickly it keeps getting worse. I feel sick to my stomach and ashamed to ask for help, because I've always been self-sufficient. Now I need more help than I've ever needed before.
