North Captiva Island is a barrier island located off the coast of Cape Coral and Fort Myers, FL. The island was devastated during Hurricane Ian, with damage not only to homes but to the general infrastructure. Folks are working tirelessly day and night. Many of these workers were employees of island businesses who now have no means of income. The island residents, business owners, communities and visitors are banding together to raise money to help multiple needs. The funds from this campaign will go directly to the workers on the ground to cover lost wages. They will be split evenly between the workers based on the number of hours worked each week. There is a task force of leaders on the island who will manage the distributions that's made up of leadership from Tortuga Properties, Island Club North Captiva and others. Those leaders will manage funds distribution.
