Nursing School Tuition
Greetings everyone, My name is Jassmine. Here is my story:
My journey began in August of 2013. A determined high school senior taking on rigorous courses and balancing out practical nursing classes simultaneously. Definitely wasn't easy but in the end, May 2014, I had graduated high school top 10% of my class and continued my journey to finish what I had began in high school: Becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. & I did just that, December 2014, I graduated from my Practical Nursing School and now was able to sit for state boards. After multiple stressful reviews and ample time put into ensuring I pass NCLEX, April 13, 2015. I was proud to announce I was officially able to practice and work as a LPN.
From this day on, I have been working as an LPN pulling EXTRANEOUS hours. 40+ hours a week. Now you may ask, why must you work so many hours a week? You have no rent? You have no bills? Well In fact, the sole purpose behind pulling extreme and long hours reverts back to my mother. My mother has always instilled in me the hard worker quality I possess till this day. Quitting is never an option, no matter how hard it gets. Back in 2013, October 31st, my mother suffered from a stroke. Taken aback by this unexpected health issue, we did not let it stop our motive. Definitely took time for my mom to get back on her feet, plenty of therapy and Much needed rest. Minor set back for a major come back.
Presently, 4 years later. My family has been struck again with a health issue. January 3, 2017 my mother suffered another stroke. Being hospitalized is never easy for anyone but still we take everything thrown our way and continue to take life one day at a time. Just as it seems things were becoming a little easier and we were long passed the unfortunate events of strokes, my mother was attacked once again, this time a lot sooner than before. February 15, my mother was hospitalized under the same diagnosis. After overcoming 3 strokes, my mother is now FORCED to quit working (Two jobs). Due to my mother working two jobs plus my income, I do not qualify for any federal assistance such as financial aid which led me to be solely responsible for my tuition in full throughout my years in college. It's too soon for my mother to retire as she's not of age yet.
I've stepped up and I'm solely responsible for everything financial in my household (Rent, Light, Water, Car Insurance, Health Insurance, College Tuition, etc). I am the first to graduate from college within my family with my Associates of Arts degree as of May 2017. Beginning August 28,2017 I plan to continue my journey into nursing school to achieve my Bachelors in Science degree and become a Registered Nurse. My program spans over a 2 year period. My total tuition cost amounts to $45,000.
My goal in life is to love people and love people well. Continuing with my journey has brought awareness to myself of how important it is to encourage and support others around the world. It took a lot for me to create this campaign but I have no other choice and I'm not ready to let go of my dreams just yet.
I have paid out of pocket thus far but now I'm having some financial setbacks. I have exhausted all undergraduate sources of financial aid. I am humbly asking for financial support as I make my way to reaching my goal. No donation is too small. If you can not donate please send good vibes and prayers my way as I go through this journey and advance my education. I want to thank you all in advance for your support and prayer. God bless you ❤️
