Onix's emergency care
On September 30, 2020 Onix had to be rushed to the 24 hour emergency vet. He had swallowed a piece of toy and was exhibiting all the tell tale signs of an obstruction. It was immediately clear to the veterinarian on shift that he was in extreme pain and that there was a problem. She did an ultrasound and advised that we keep him there overnight to try some measures to avoid surgery. The staff called early morning and said they believed that the medication had worked and that he would not need the operation. This is a blessing. However, the cost of the stay and treatments totalled almost $800. I have recently been hit HARD, financially, by the coronavirus, and simply do not have the ability to pay for basic life needs with this huge expense looming over our heads. Please help any way you can. I'm embarrassed to ask for help but we really need it right now.
