Hi! My name is Tia & I currently live in a sober living house with three other wonderful ladies. We are part of the Oxford House Inc sober living community, & are out of Kingsport, TN. Oxford House has made tremendous changes in each and every one of our lives, & has given us that helping hand & opportunity we needed, just when we didn’t think we had any hope left in life. As for myself, I have been sober for nearly 10 months. Drug and alcohol free, of my own choice. Oxford gave me the chance and the structure so I so desperately wanted and needed in my life. I’m 30 years old, & after 17 years of being addicted to drugs, and not ever having a legal job, I can say now, I have a great job, I am a part of my daughter’s life, I have given my life to the Lord, I am happy and free from addiction. Our house is currently facing some struggles, because the ladies and I work, seemingly all the time, & when we don’t work, we attend our NA/AA/DAA meetings or simply stay at home, we don’t really go out in the community or know anyone who struggles with addiction anymore because we don’t want that temptation in our lives. We aren’t sure how to reach out and let others in the community know that we have beds available for those who are serious about their recovery. So we are facing possibly losing our home, because we are struggling with our bills, with loans to pay and rent as high as it is, we don’t know what else to do but reach out and ask for help.
