Palestinian Fam in SEA
From Jen:
Hello world! Many are looking for ways to continue to support Palestinians directly affected by the ongoing genocide and occupation in both Gaza and the West Bank. Here is one way to directly support a family recently arrived to the United States from Jenin in the West Bank.
This is a fundraiser for Ahmed and his family, Palestinian refugees who now live in my neighborhood of Beacon Hill in South Seattle. Ahmed's two adorable, bright-eyed sons go to the same elementary school as my son.
I hope you'll consider donating some money directly to Ahmed and his family to help them get settled here, to help them heal, and to help them support their family who remain in the West Bank.
From Ahmed:
Peace be upon you all. First of all, I am sorry for these words. We are a Palestinian family from the West Bank who has made our way to Seattle on our own, by way of Egypt, Jordan, and Istanbul.
The occupation destroyed our house and burned our small car that used to take us from one place to another. This is a picture of where our house was in Jenin. We hope for support to restore this house and to help our family who are still there - my grandparents, parents, and siblings.
We only wished for a beautiful life and to live in freedom. Our wish now is to educate my children in schools like the rest of the children in the world. I wished for that. We love our children very much. We do not want them to grow up in these problems and poverty. We want your support so that we can reach a safe life and get an education for our children.
Thank you very much for reading this.
