Help Bring Paranda Party to Life—Nirbhau Nirvair: Without Fear, Without Hate 2025

We’re gathering community again under the shimmer of the paranda—a plait accessory of Punjabi origins, yes, but also the threads that bind us. Through movement, poetry, and braidwork, we create spaces where the divine feminine, ancestry, and creativity intertwine.

This is more than a party.

This is resistance.

This is love.

This is labor.

And that labor deserves to be compensated.

We’re raising funds to pay our QTPOC artists, performers, organizers, and cultural workers for their brilliance, their time, and their heart. Every paranda that swings, every poem recited, every beat dropped—it all comes from us, for us.

We’re also committed to lowering ticket prices—because gathering in joy should never be gatekept by cost.

But the truth is: funding is scarce. The National Endowment for the Arts has pulled back support, and independent, queer, and diasporic art spaces are left to fend for themselves.

We believe that art spaces like Paranda Party are not optional. They are how we survive. They are how we imagine new worlds.

This year’s theme is Nirbhau Nirvair—Without Fear, Without Hate—drawn from Sikh philosophy and charged with possibility.

It’s a call to live and create in the face of everything trying to silence us.

It’s a constellation we navigate by.

It’s a cosmos we braid with our own hands.
