Parkinson’s Dad of Two

Hello,

Only a short while ago, I felt like I was doing well and moving along just fine in life. The last nine months has delivered one blow after the next, unfortunately. I’ve never been to ask for help, and I’ve always been the one that people have come to, so being on the other end is humbling. I’ve dealt with tremors, blackouts, and physical pain for 15 years or more, and was recent diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s disease. I’m 48 with two absolutely amazing daughters who I would not only die for, but who I want to show that I will do everything in my power to LIVE for. The mother of our children, and my wife who has been my partner in life since I was 19 is wanting a separation. My income supported us for many years, but since 2020 primarily, my symptoms became worse and my overall mental health and physical energy has been declining. I know I’m not special in that everyone is battling something and I ask myself why would a total stranger help me get back on my feet. Because I would, and I have, many times over throughout my life. I plan on getting involved with Parkinson’s and Men’s Mental Health care, research, and support, and would love to start volunteering and working with Parkinson’s organizations, but need to secure myself and home for my girls first and foremost. The bills don’t stop and I’m working daily in addition to searching out work from home options as well for more reliable consistent income. I never thought I would be in a position like this where I fear losing my home and children, have swallowed all pride, and am focused solely on getting myself back to a high performing individual who can inspire and help others going through similar circumstances. I’m happy to go into any further details privately for anyone interested. I thank God that I’m still here and pray that we all can pull ourselves out of despair and into the light. Please know that any generosity I may receive will ultimately be given back as it is my hope and expectation to make the world a little better and safer place for us all not only, not less, but greater than it was given to me.

We’ve never posted photos of our children on the internet to protect their privacy.

Thank you!
